na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BAT... What?!

The other day a friend came over and before entering informed me that something was flying at the front door. Upon opening my door to the hallway, I quickly realized that this "thing" was a bat.

Then it miraculously managed to get from the hallway into the back of my apartment only to fly at us, dive at us, and basically insist that I open my porch door to let him out. (He is now called Bartok).

Bartok scared my friend and I, mostly just because it insisted on the diving portion of the evening.

The next day he reappeared... only to quickly disappear. That resulted in a search by my roommate, the guy across the hall, and me. Now the bat was coming and going and had all the possibilities of coming back. We give up, my roommate goes to sleep, and I am safely in my room.

Lies. I heard a strange sound and looked up from bed only to see the bat flying around my room. I cowered under my comforter for a few minutes before ducking around to open all of my doors and sitting in the floor waiting for him to fly out on his own. THUD! He hit the floor just outside my door, and I shut him out.

Two nights in a row and this bat seems to enjoy bothering me. The next day facilities men came and searched my apartment only to find absolutely nothing.

As I sit here in my apartment having a wonderful junk food and Gilmore Girls marathon, I am enjoying a fourth bat-free night. Here's to more nights without a creepy, flying guest!
